From Self-Doubt to Confident Leadership




When Connor began coaching, he was grappling with imposter syndrome and the challenge of building trust with his team and peers. Like many high-performing professionals, he knew he had the potential—but needed support to fully step into his leadership, and felt very self-conscious about asking for help initially.


Over the course of our work together, Connor transformed how he saw himself and how others experienced him as a leader.


Through deep self-awareness work, he began to recognise and quiet the inner critic, understanding where imposter feelings came from and how they were holding him back. He built confidence by anchoring into his strengths and clarifying the impact he wanted to have.


We explored how to communicate with more intention—staying at the right altitude, mirroring others’ styles who he considered role models, and expressing himself clearly and assertively. He also learned the art of empathetic leadership: connecting with people not just intellectually, but emotionally.


Together, we introduced decision-making frameworks like the OODA loop (Observe – Orient – Decide – Act – by John Boyd), or the Impact-Effort Matrix, giving him tools to act with clarity and speed. 


And crucially, Connor practiced behaviours that build trust—sharing more of himself, embracing vulnerability, and tuning into the non-verbal signals that shape how others respond to us.


The results?


Connor now leads with greater confidence and presence. He makes faster, wiser decisions. His relationships—especially with his team—are stronger, more human, and rooted in mutual trust. And he’s delegating with intention, empowering those around him to grow.


This kind of transformation doesn’t happen by accident. It takes courage, curiosity, and a commitment to change. Connor showed up fully—and it’s been a privilege to witness his growth.
